Kristen is a Personal Support Worker currently working towards her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and is hoping to continue her career in the health care field, specifically relating to mental health and addictions. Kristen has over 10 years’ experience in the field, utilizing many different skills within the community, long term care facilities, as well as correctional services of Canada.
Throughout her career as a PSW she has set out and achieved many goals such as being a mentor and trainer, obtaining her medications administration certificate along with her suicide prevention certificate. She has a passion for helping support her clients and strives to ensure they are always being treated with dignity, respect, and equality. She loves the variety of different ways being a PSW can help make an impact on someone’s life and appreciates being able to make a difference in any way that she can. Kristen’s values that she has applied to help her become the PSW she is today are being adaptable, empathetic, compassionate and always using strong communication skills with her clients, as well as co-workers. Kristen is very family oriented, she has a spouse, 3 children and a dog. Outside of work Kristen loves having game nights with friends and family, and is always up for a road trip. She loves to spend her summer weekends at the trailer with her family and in the winter months she enjoys snowboarding trips with her family to Blue Mountain and Tremblant.
